Ministry & Family Update - End of Year 2008

Dearest Friends,

We find ourselves very thankful of how the Lord has given us His daily grace for the many joys and challenges that we have experienced this past year. It has been a full year!

Bill continues to oversee his company and enjoys his fishing adventures to Canada, Lake Arrowhead and beyond.

Lynn had many changes this past year. She stepped down from one full time job in Hospice and changed companies in April to work for another Hospice agency in a part time Liaison role (similar to a discharge planner role). With a new freedom in her schedule, she was able to do a bit more traveling, including a Fall trip to Africa that was part of the School of Reconciliation. In Africa, she traveled with a team to Northern Uganda and experienced the life and culture of the beauty and hardships of the land. The trip was enriching and life changing and the faces of those that we met have remained with me. On the home front, we continue to host our House Church that meets monthly.

Doug continues to live in a nearby apartment and continues with his schooling in business at Cal State Fullerton. He has recently gotten back into ice hockey, which he (and us) are thoroughly enjoying.

Val continues at Fullerton Junior College and just got a new job at McCormick & Schmick Restaurant.

Regarding our extended families: Our sad news is that my father had a decline in health and peacefully passed on September 2nd. It was an honor to have him in our lives and he is missed. The rest of our extended families are doing well.

This past year had its usual amount of stresses, but we continue to be thankful for God’s goodness and for our health and family and friends. Working in Hospice continues to help clarify to me what is really important in life and I am grateful for the many ways that the families that I have worked with have gifted me with perspective along with much gratitude. It is our prayer that you may find the faithfulness and peace of God to be your strength and joy in this season and in the coming New Year.

Blessings and joy,

Lynn
