Yesterday, while walking at my favorite park, I was captivated by a simple scene. My park has alot of ducks, geese and other fowl and they were happily swimming about the lake and meandering about the park. And then a lady brought out a bag of bread and started feeding a few of the ducks....and the whole scene at the park changed. Somehow, in bird language, word got out about the bread and every bird in the park started to make their way towards the woman with bread. It was quite a scene to behold. And it made me ponder..."how hungry am I "? How hungry are we as a nation, to pursue the Bread of Life, the One who is our Everything?
And I thought of these scriptures while beholding this scene:
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35)
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. (Deut 8:3)
May our hunger increase for the true bread of Heaven! Lynn
